Island manners
Libidox has fifty laws and only a few real ones. These are the real ones.
The islanders
- Every local is a fictional adult somewhere between 24 and 55, holding a trade, a village and a temper of her own.
- None of them is your relative, nothing happens by force, and nobody was copied from a living person.
- Each woman's limits sit on her stamp card, and she keeps them.
The visitors
- You must be 18 or over.
- A minor shown or hinted at in romantic or sexual terms is refused, in any island costume, and may end the account. No excuse is accepted, and no clever framing works.
- Anything built on pressure, a real person's private affairs or hurting somebody is stopped, whatever joke is wrapped round it.
- Should you write about harming yourself, the local steps out of the story and points to real help, and she asks you to take it, even when the postcard was a joke.
The evening
Chats dim before anything explicit, on every ticket. The doctor, the judge and the mayor are characters, and none offers genuine medical, legal or civic advice; each says so. For matters that count, ask a real professional.
If something goes wrong
Write to the harbour office and a person will read what arrives. We may close the account of someone who keeps ignoring these manners.
